Benefits of becoming a Shareholder

  • Ownership of a share of Re:Generation Agricultural Land Commons Incorporated
  • The right to access the Land and use it in any way that is in keeping with our Guiding Principles and doesn’t infringe on another Shareholder’s use. This could include income-generating ventures, leisure, foraging, conservation projects, building projects, etc. 
  • The right to vote in Annual General Meetings and to select board members

Selection of Land by Shareholder vote

Potential shareholders will pay a deposit which will contribute to their final buy-in total at the time of Land purchase. This deposit will give potential shareholders the right to contribute to the list of characteristics we are seeking in a piece of Land for purchase, and the right to vote on the selection of Land before purchase. Potential shareholders who decide not to move forward with purchase will have their deposit refunded. See below for more details about share prices, etc.

 Ideal applicants would have the following qualities 

  • Access to adequate financial capital under time-sensitive conditions (see below for details).  
  • Has experience and/or education in a relevant field(s):
    – Regenerative agriculture, wild-tending, foraging, natural building, permaculture, conservation biology, etc.
    – Non-hierarchical decision making and leadership in large scale group undertakings
    – Design and implementation of public outreach on a variety of platforms
    – Content generation: video, photographic, written, etc. 
    – Other relevant skills and experience
  • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills. Ability to be direct and assertive in an emotionally intelligent manner. Willingness to undergo formal conflict resolution processes when necessary. 
  • A longstanding history of following through on commitments. 
  • Is an enthusiastic YES to our guiding principles. 
  • Able to match idealism with hard work. 
  • Willingness, ability, and time to invest in new relationships.

Cost of Shares

The final cost of shares will be determined by a number of factors, including the number of shareholders, the price of land, availability of outside funding, etc. However, we intend to keep financial barriers low to ensure that the project is accessible to a diverse pool of potential participants. We believe that with 10-20 shareholders, a share price in the range of $5000.00 will give us sufficient buying power to acquire an appropriate parcel of Land.
