Land Acknowledgement

Re:Generation Land Commons acknowledges that we live and work on Treaty Six Land, the longstanding home and traditional territory of the Nehiyaw (Cree), Nakota (Assinaboine), Nahkawininiwak (Salteaux), and Dakota Indigenous Nations, as well as the traditional homeland of the Metis.

We honour the bi-lateral, nation-to-nation relationship between settler and Indigenous peoples established by this and other Treaties. We endeavour to live up to and embody the cooperative and mutually respectful spirit of this relationship as defined by the Treaty.

We honour the Ancestors of this place as well as the striving of present day Indigenous peoples for autonomy and self-determination.

We express our gratitude for this Land and our access to it, and we commit ourselves to caring for the Land to the best of our ability.
